WATER FOR IRAQ

UNESCO

In the heart of the Middle East, Iraq suffers from a water crisis. Climate change, droughts, dams, wars and pollution have put this precious resource under threat.

To face the humanitarian emergency, the European Union and UNESCO launched the ASHRI project in 2013 in partnership with the Iraqi governement.

For 5 years, the ASHRI project has been looking for new sources of water and improving the management of water supplies in the region.
